Back to Normal

Things are finally back to normal at the Pitcock household. Stephen came home from his two week stay in Germany on Friday, July 17th and we flew to New England on Saturday. It was a very nice vacation and was so great to be a family once again. I am working on a post with our New England pictures.

Great Animals

On Thursday, Chloe went to Lori's VBS and Kentucky Down Under was there with lots of animals. Chloe was not scared at all.... she even petted the blue-tongued lizard!! The kangaroo was my favorite. It was so much fun!!

We love and miss you Daddy... Can't wait until you get here. We are praying for your safe return!!

A Fun Week

This has been a LONG week. Stephen has been in Germany for almost two weeks and will be coming home on Friday. We cannot wait to have him home. In the meantime, Chloe and I have been trying to keep ourselves busy. We have stayed with Grammy and O'Pa and we have stayed at home some. Thanks to Grammy and O'Pa for all of the support while Stephen has been gone!! We went to VBS with Elizabeth two times last week and Chloe had a great time. We also visited with Elizabeth today, but my camera would not work. Here are a few pictures taken last week.

These pictures were taken at Mr. Richard and Mrs. Janice's pool.... thanks so much for letting us come and swim. We had the pool all to ourselves. Chloe had a great time!!

Mr. Richard also came to Grammy and O'Pa's and brought us some delicious corn, Chloe loved to hold the corn, so Mr. Richard gave her a piece of her own.

On Saturday night, we went to Becky's house for a family reunion and Chloe got to meet lots of new cousins. Some of our cousins were shooting fireworks as all the rest of us sat on the porch and watched. All of a sudden, one of the large fireworks turned over and started shooting right at the porch instead of up in the air!! Everyone dove to the ground and everyone especially tried to protect Chloe. All I remember is just lunging for her and trying to get myself over her. We are so blessed that no one was injured... it could have turned out very bad. It was a night I will never forget.

This is a picture of Chloe watching Grammy make her famous chocolate chip cookies to take to the reunion. My camera unfortunately would not work at the reunion, so I did not get to take any pictures.

Prayer Request

Today is a bittersweet day. As most of you know, we have had a foster child living with us since the end of May. I am unable to post any information about this child. However, since the day she came to live with us, we have dealt with issues that are beyond our control. We have prayed about this situation and today this child will be taken out of our home. We are uncertain whether we will ever take another foster child into our home due to this very unfortunate situation. As trying as this situation has been over the past 6-8 weeks, it is still hard to let go. Please pray for our family and this sweet little girl. Please pray that she will be blessed with a family that can help her and give her a much better life.

Happy Fourth of July

On the Fourth of July, Chloe took her first boat ride. She loved riding on the boat and would say all day, "I ride the boat". She swam in the lake for the first time and had a wonderful time. When she first got into the lake, Chloe yelled out "apple juice". We don't know if the color reminded her of apple juice or not... what a crazy first reaction. However, we were not brave enough to get her on the jet ski... maybe in about 10 years :)

A Wonderful Weekend

On Thursday night, I headed to Russellville to get my hair highlighted while Stephen took the girls to their last night of Bible School. We spent the night with my parents and got up early and went swimming at Lori's mom's swimming pool. After taking a long nap, we went to Darla's house on the river and ate lots of catfish and hush puppies, and lots of other delicious food. Chloe loved the hush puppies. She ate two BIG hush puppies all by herself.

VBS

This was Chloe's first VBS. I cannot remember why we did not attend last year, perhaps it was because Stephen spent most of the summer in the hospital. Maybe that was it. Anyway, she loved VBS this year. Ms. Nancy is a wonderful teacher and they participated in lots of fun activities and made lots of crafts. Chloe initially said "ABC" when we told her to say "VBS". By the end of the week, she was saying "Bible School". This is a picture of Chloe's plant she made at Bible School. The first night she would not put the plant down. Now it is growing sprouts and she is even more excited. The other pictures are of Chloe dressed in her "robe" she got at Bible school. All of the children in her class looked so cute dressed in these.
